Rat Homes And Nesting Boxes.

Picture
Here are some rat homes and nesting boxes ideas!
: Store made Rat igloos[plastic], store made straw cylinder nest, PVC tubes covered by a sock or cloth, Plastic homemade igloos, ice cream containers with hole cut in side for entrance, big cardboard boxes [these will be chewed upon by rats and aren't the best choice] , lots of shredded paper for a nest, an old jeans leg hung up by the cage roof or wall as a loft, Rat hammocks can be homemade by cloth or you can buy a bird hammock from local pet store and use as rat hammock will usually fit about 2-4 average-big sized rats! Now i recommend putting more than 1 rat home or nest in one cage! Shredded paper is a good stuffing to put in nests and houses for rats to sleep on and hide beneath! RATS LOVE BEING HIDDEN!

A good thing to put in in rat boxes and nests is shredded paper or news paper if you leave shredded paper outside the nest most rats will come out and store the paper into the nest there self.

Wooden bird nesting boxes can also  be a good choice if u can find a decent sized cheap one i would grab it and put it in their cage!

You can also put pieces of towel and cloth for rat bedding. i highly suggest using Polar Fleece as it does not Fray!
Also it is very soft and rats love to cuddle up to it in the winter and summer! Now the good thing about cloth does not fray is: The rats claws and tails can get caught up in the fray. Rats can be strangled around the neck by the fray. And rats might choke on the fray if they try to eat or chew on it!
